Sserumaga Foundation is a non-profit, non-governmental organization founded in 2012 in Uganda to address some of the most pressing challenges faced by vulnerable communities, particularly the youth. The Foundation was born out of years of voluntary service by its founder, James Sserumaga, and other dedicated youths and elders who recognized the need for a structured platform to empower individuals through education, counselling, training, and talent development.
Since its inception, Sserumaga Foundation has championed three major pillars of impact: Development Support, which equips communities with vocational and entrepreneurial skills to create sustainable livelihoods; Life Skills Education, which provides counselling, career guidance, and mindset transformation programs in schools and communities; and Talent Development, which nurtures and promotes creative and sports talents among youth, helping them turn their abilities into viable careers.
Despite operating with limited resources, the Foundation has impacted thousands of Ugandans through free and subsidized trainings in entrepreneurship, vocational trades, ICT literacy, and creative arts. It has also built partnerships with schools, local leaders, and community-based organizations, leaving a footprint of hope wherever it has worked. Guided by its motto “Success is a Trace”, the Foundation promotes integrity, hard work, and legacy-building. Its vision is to be a model organization that improves the quality, value, and hope of life for all, by skilling, guiding, counselling, and empowering people to achieve self-reliance and sustainable development.
